Ringo Akai (赤井 りんご, Akai Ringo) is a character from a Playstation Tokyo Mew Mew game. She appears only in the video game and in a short, mini-manga called Petite Mew Mew in volume two of Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode.
Ringo lives on a nature reserve with her parents and older brother, Mashio Akai. She is alone most of the time and has no friends except for her pet penguin, Yuki, up to the point of meeting the other Mew Mews. As a result, she was extremely shy in the beginning, but slowly warmed up to her new friends. Ringo referrs to herself in third person like Pudding, and calls everybody except Pudding "onee-chan" since she is older. Ringo admires Ichigo Momomiya and her older brother Mashio very much.
She is the only Mew Mew that is not infused with DNA, but represents the Humbolt Penguin. When Kish transforms Yuki into a Chimera Animal, Ringo uses a Mew Aqua necklace from her mother to become Mew Ringo. She uses a wand that is shorter than the Mew Aqua Rod called an Apple Stick, but cannot attack without another Mew with her. Her normal power is Ribbon Apple Bop, which is a healing power.

Ringo is 10 years old and is 4'3" and weighs 66 pounds. Her hair colour is brown, cut short to her chin like Ichigo's. Ringo is always seen wearing a red ribbon in her hair.
As a Mew Mew, Ringo's hair colour becomes hazel . Her Mew outfit is similar to Lettuce's, but with red and short white bottoms. She also wears a big red bow in her hair, keeping one little bit of hair up. Also, in her outfit, she has shoulder-length white gloves, and she wears high-heel red shoes.
Family
Ringo's mother and father are never shown . She lives with her only sibling, her older brother Mashio who bares a strong resemblance to Aoyama.
Despite popular belief, Ringo and Ichigo Momomiya are NOT related. Many fans simply believe they are due to their similar appearances.
Trivia
Ringo's theme is red apples.
Ringo is the only Mew Mew that does not have a garter on her thigh.
Even though she does not appear in the anime, Ringo has character songs just like the rest of the Mews, sung by Taeko Kawata.
